Matt Gracie has been DJing and producing music since 1999. He has come a long way since his humble beginnings, and has found great success playing double duty as promoter and DJ. After gaining the respect of club owners, promoters, and clubbers alike by hosting, promoting and DJing parties over the past nine years, Matt has finally been able to return to his first love, producing music.Matt’s hard work has landed him Toronto residencies at Footwork, System Soundbar, Mad-Bar, Sugar, Roxy Blu, Film Lounge, Underbar, Byzantium, and Dragonfly. Performances at other venues include The Guvernment, Afterlife, 5ive, ButterFly, Boa, and The Docks. Over the years, his sets have featured house, techno, trance, electro, hip-hop and R&B, but he is most well known for his sexy, pounding, tribal and tech-house.Matt has been fortunate enough to be lined up on the same bill with International talent such as Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Kenneth Thomas, Mark Farina, DJ Demi, DJ Dan, Miss Honey Dijon, Cevin Fisher, Ferry Corsten, Stacey Pullen, Johnny Fiasco, DJ Heather, Roy Davis Jr., Danny Howells, Matt C, Mark Oliver and Deko-ze to name a few. Matt’s ability to adapt and the diversity of his sound have opened up many new doors for this focused and energetic performer, including being given the opportunity to play on the Main Stage from 2004-2009 at one of the world’s biggest annual events, PRIDE. Matt has also volunteered his time with Oxfam Canada during the International Aids Conference, in August 2006, and September in 2007 by assisting in the organization of and performing at the fundraising events entitled Music4Change. In spring of 2009, Matt was featured in studio on the very popular daytime show, CityLine on Citytv in Toronto which has a viewership of 3 million daily around the county.Matt Gracie is currently focused on his production. He has received praise from international DJ’s regarding his first 4 tribal/tech-house releases entitled, “You Just Know When It feels Right” , “I’m Not Good Enough?”, “Favourite Position” and “Shugga Daddy Thang” on his own label, Unleash Recordings. More releases are lined up for 2009 on other labels such as Musictracx, BWG Recordings and Pawnshop Records.
